Production Companies

Workers compensation coverage is available for everyone associated with a video production company. Production companies are required to purchase WCB coverage for all of their workers. You may also purchase coverage for entertainers (anyone who works in front of the camera) and independent contractors.

WCB coverage provides benefits for people who are hurt at work and protects you from lawsuits in the event of an injury.

Employers of Apprentices

If your business is in a mandatory industry and you have an apprenticeship agreement, your apprentices are included in your workers compensation coverage.

Apprentices are included in your coverage whether they are participating in on-the-job training or in-school technical training. In either case, you are considered the employer of record and all costs associated with a claim are applied to your firm’s experience.

Incident Reporting

When an employee is injured, the last thing on anyone's mind is paperwork. No one wants to wait and watch the mail for forms that will have to be filled out and sent back in order to get people the compensation they need. But somebody has to provide an incident report...and the sooner that report gets to the WCB, the sooner it can be processed and the sooner we can get an injured worker back to health and work.

So the WCB is making incident reporting moving it online.

Claims Online

As part of our commitment to providing better service to Manitobans, the WCB is offering another way for employers to access information about their company. With Claims Online, employers can view claim information with a few clicks of a mouse.

Return to Work Best Practices

Every successful Return to Work Program is based on productive and positive relationships in an organization. When all stakeholders understand their roles and responsibilities, these relationships are easy to develop. Stakeholders include the employer, the injured worker, co-workers and the WCB.
