If you suffer a workplace injury, vocational rehabilitation services may be offered should you be unable to return to work with your employer because of your work-related injury or disease.

Vocational rehabilitation is a process involving you, your Case Manager, a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant and when possible, your union representative and employer.

Policy Purpose

The Board will generally accept claims when a worker, who is drunk or intoxicated, suffers personal injury as a result of an accident arising out of and in the course of employment only when the accident represents a risk of employment that the worker was less able to avoid due to intoxication. However, when the accident is shown to be due solely to the drunkenness or intoxication of the worker, the claim is not accepted.
